The Community Development Fund is an innovation whereby a 10% premium on the sale of Asante’s essential oil crops to doTERRA are put into a fund that will be reinvested  back to the communities where our crops are produced.  The funds are managed by a community-led committee that determines the best use of the funds.  Scholarships, school improvements, teacher development, pit latrines, bore holes and access to clean water are priorities the communities have identified to best utilize the funds.  Additional contributions by dōTERRA Healing Hands Foundation™ also help improve the communities that surround our plantation.  We expect to contribute millions of dollars into these rural communities over the next decade to improve lives—all based on needs identified by the community itself.  Asante has put over $50,000 already into the community of Mwamose in 2016.
